I just love Tyler The Creator, don’t you?
Tyler Gregory Okonma has some misogynist, rape culture depictions in his videos, homophobic slurs used sporadically.
Yes, not very PC.
In a Twitter battle about Tyler The Creator’s album Goblin, Okonma tweeted in response to Canadian twin (and gay) act Tegan and Sara criticism of the content as misogynist, “If Tegan And Sara Need Some Hard Dick, Hit Me Up!”. He does some fine work with Kali Uchis and stands behind collaborator Frank Ocean whom stated that he had had a same sex relationship, and worked with Syd tha Kyd (Sydney Bennett) in Odd Future, whom upon being asked the question ..um, so are you..? says; Do I look straight to you? Shit, you got your answer – -go watch ‘Cocaine’
Internet (OFWGKTA) “Cocaine” directed by Matt Alonzo.
No kids! We don’t do drugs!
Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, or Odd Future for short, OR OFWGKTA, was a massive creative group that just spawned more and more creative groups, rap, film, acting, DJing, they’re all like MF Doom’s nieces and nephews, son! Alternative hip hop, yeahya!
Members of OFWGKTA:
Tyler, The Creator
Noted former members:
With off-shoots like:
The Jet Age of Tomorrow
Mr. Sweatshirt; Earl Sweatshirt; Thebe Neruda Kgositsile
What has been heard of I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Out: An Album By Earl Sweatshirt sounds real good, folks. Last year, but hey! Loves it.
Another excellent one; Faucet.
Allison Stewart says in the Washington Post that It’s a shame he’s so hateful, but he’s an artist, so it’s okay! I think she’s presenting this as being a kind of lame perspective but I think I agree with it. Name one great artist that hasn’t had some twisted perspectives? Makes him different than the typical ‘moving on up’ ‘trap’ minded MCs.
This came out in March but that makes it still fresh out of the box for me so here it is.
Do you love Tyler The Creator?
