Olympian Tyson Gay Loses His Daughter In Kentucky Gang Shoot Out.

As reported by The Guardian, Olympian sprinter Tyson Gay lost his daughter Trinity Gay, an aspiring athlete, who was an innocent bystander struck by crossfire of a gang shoot out in Kentucky.

The 15 year old Trinity Gay was outside of Cook Out Restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky, when passengers of two vehicles engaged in gunfire at about 4:00 AM. Lexington police released the statement:

“A juvenile who was struck at the scene was transported to a hospital by private vehicle and then transferred to UKH, where she was pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified by the Fayette county coroner’s office as 15-year-old Trinity Gay of Lexington.”

The teen, Ms Gay was said by her mother Shoshana Boyd, to want to become a surgeon and was a practicing sprinter. Ms Boyd is quoted to have said to The New York Daily News:

“She was so innocent, she was so innocent, I just want people to stop shooting and realise who they’re hurting. It’s just random. They don’t understand, they don’t understand who they’re hurting. I should never have to bury my child, she wanted to be the fastest woman in the world, and they took that away from her.”

The New York Daily News reported that a young man, Dvonta Middlebrooks, 21 had been arrested for “wanton endangerment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon”. It has not been proven that a bullet from Mr Middlebrooks gun was the one that struck Ms Gay.
