The Drug Enforcement Administration and US Attorney’s Office have joined in on the investigation of the death of Prince.
Chief Deputy Jason Kamerud of Carver County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the resources and expertise of the Federal agencies were being utilised.
Addiction specialist Dr Howard Kornfeld‘s lawyer William Mauzy said the doctor was sought out by a representative of Prince and was due to meet him on the date of April 22nd. It was stated that Prince was “dealing with a grave medical emergency”. The doctor’s son whom works along side his father, Andrew Kornfeld travelled to Minneapolis on the evening of the 20th of April. He was the individual to find Prince unresponsive in the Paisley Park residence on the morning of April 21st, with other members of the artist’s team.

“The plan was to quickly evaluate his health and devise a treatment plan,” Mauzy said. “The doctor was planning on a lifesaving mission.”
The autopsy was completed on April 21st and the results are pending.
