Erykah Badu, Siren, Artist, Goddess, Mother, Style Icon.

Erykah Abi Wright, know as Erykah Badu is a mega talent.

She’s performed and recorded for over twenty years, she’s morphed into so many different looks that you can’t believe she’s pulling them all off in succession, again and again. The one consistent is that beautiful face, eyes that you could drown in, lips that all the lining in the world could never make ours as plush and full as hers. She makes it all look effortless as she rocks one of her variety of tall hats, or head wraps. She loves colour, has styled professionally as well as been muse to Tom Ford, Givenchy and others.

The 45 year old from Dallas, Texas, she has been declared the First Lady Of Neo-Soul. I’d call her the Queen of Alternative Soul. They try to tell us Alternative Soul isn’t a thing, we know that’s not the case.

She’s a neo/alternative soul diva that dates rappers, has 3 gorgeous children fathered by hip hop royalty and is the Queen royal of alternative Hip Hop Soul herself. I almost couldn’t stop collecting images of this extremely relevant icon, who does not grow older but more magnificent. She can do any look and does.

Ultimately, she uses fashion as an art, and that is what it is really for. Plus her voice is superb.

Look at what she’s done.
