Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Ma.) goes after president-elect Donald Trump‘s choice of Steve Bannon, an ultra-right “white nationalist” as his senior strategist, as well as insiders such as former George W Bush & George W H Bush staffers, Ado Machido (domestic policy aide to former vice president Dick Cheney), Kay Cole James, Cindy Hayden of tobacco corporation Altria for Homeland Security, and so forth. See the extensive article on the subject at Politico.
Reported in Politico was the promises Mr Trump made specifically in a speech in Wisconsin, in which he was quoted to have said; “make our government honest once again.” stating that he would request that Congress ban executive officials from lobbying the government for five years after returning from the private sector. Described as an “outsider”, Mr Trump has done the exact opposite to what he has promised his voters and begun to fill his administration with insiders.
As for Breitbart executive chairman Steve Bannon, Ms Warren has highlighted his antisemitic, anti-feminism rhetoric to an audience at The Wall Street Journal‘s CEO Council conference, sating that it is generally “bad for business”, a White House that embraces bigotry, “bad for everybody”.
Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) stated that already Mr Trump has “backpedaled” on the sole thing that they agreed upon, to keep special interests groups out of the White House, a promise to “drain the swamp”. Members of the Trump transition team for the Environmental Protection Agency are Michael McKenna and Michael Catanzaro, both with links to the Koch brothers, an article at Huffington Post reported.
“We are going to send the special interests packing, and we are going to once again have a government of, by, and for the people,” Trump told a crowd in Des Moines, Iowa, in August. – Landess Kearns, Huffington Post
Mr Sanders appeared in a press conference with Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) to clarify Mr Trump’s immediate turn around on campaign promises to his voters and supporters.
