Actor and writer Carrie Fisher is in stable condition according to a report by The Guardian, after she was hospitalised on Friday, December 23, 2016 after suffering an apparent heart attack on flight from London to Los Angeles.
Ms Fisher, 60 had recently reprised her breakthrough role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise films, which first release was in 1977. She is the daughter of actor/dancer Debbie Reynolds and singer Eddie Fisher. Ms Fisher has been treated at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
Ms Fisher had been visiting the United Kingdom to promote her book, The Princess Diarist and shoot footage for the Channel 4 comedy series, Catastrophe. Star Wars cast, including Harrison Ford sent well wishes to the actor with Mr Ford quoted to have stated to Associated Press “I am shocked and saddened to hear the news about my dear friend”.
