Carrie Fisher Has Died At 60

Actor and author Carrie Fisher‘s daughter actor Billie Lourd has confirmed that her mother has passed away this morning at 8:55 at a hospital in Los Angeles. As previously reported Ms Fisher suffered a heart attack while on a flight from London to Los Angeles on December 23rd. She celebrated her 60th birthday on October 21st.

Ms Fisher was the daughter of entertainer Eddie Fisher and actor/entertainer Debbie Reynolds. Her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars trilogy catapult her into fame. She also starred in Shampoo (1975), Hannah and Her Sisters (1986), The Blues Brothers (1980), When Harry Met Sally… (1989), Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery (1997), Cougar Club (2007) and reprised her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) and Star Wars: Episode VIII (2017).

Ms Fisher was married to musician Paul Simon from 1983-1984 and was in a partnership with talent agent of Creative Artists Agency, Bryan Lourd who fathered her daughter. She is survived by her mother Debbie Reynolds, daughter Billie Lourd, siblings Todd Fisher, Joely Fisher, Tricia Leigh Fisher and her devoted dog Gary.
